Macro - Life up close

Still playing around with the new extension tubes. Took Davros and Fred the Budgie outside in the sun to see if I could get a better detailed shot.

I used to have a small white chipboard desk that I worked at when we first moved into this place. Since then I have upgraded to a larger more suitable option. The old desk was placed outside and has been weathering the sun and the rain for a couple of years now. This is the result

Part of the surface of the desk has split and the top layer rises high like a cliff over the rest. Underneath is a spongy layer made up of air and thin sleeves of wood

A quick shot I took with the extension tubes on. This is part of a drink bottle sock my wife made for me after I got out of hospital.

So while this might LOOK like a delicious chocolate and icecream concoction, it sadly isn't.

Butterflies and moths are some of the hardest insects to photograph, sometimes I wonder if they know where they're going to end up next
